Minds Flight Activity Update July 2021

Minds Flight Activity Update

We wanted to let you know what we have achieved with your support over the past six months since becoming a charity last December 2020. First, would like to thank those of you who kindly donated.

As you know Minds Flight helps those with life-limiting conditions to improve their lives and their carers.

During the past six months, (February - July) we have been providing support to people online and also by telephone as we have all been coping with COVID-19. Those we have helped have mostly been understandable suffering with stress or frustration amplified by the current COVID-19 situation.

“Thank you for your kind words of support its good to talk to someone who also suffers seizures themselves.” (Person from Wales)

"Thank you so much for reaching out to me. It truly means the world." (Sarah from Canada)

Grants and support for the disabled chronically ill and their carers

Everyone deserves support or a short break, a change of scene, a bit of entertainment from time to time. Minds Flight provides financial help for short breaks or time out activities for people of all ages suffering with a long-term illness, convalescing
or disabled, and for their carers.

For those who have been unable to have a breakaway due to severe physical disabilities, whether neurological or other disorders, these grants are used to provide time out activities, respite or convalescence breaks. We also include carers who equally need time to themselves or a breakaway. You can find out about the type of grants we currently offer on our Go page.

Minds Flight started in December 2020 and we have begun to provide online support to those who need it during COVID-19.

We are currently fundraising to provide grants and support not only for the disabled and their carers, but also for NHS staff who are working on the front-line saving lives from COVID-19. Please read our How to Apply page or help us by donating here!
